Bringing education in the skilled trades and mechanical literacy to K-12.

Why we’re here

Mechanical literacy belongs in every student’s education.

Understanding tools, materials, and the machines around us gives students practical knowledge and new ways to solve problems. Yet many young people have few chances to explore these skills in school.

Makers in Motion is a student-led initiative advocating for mechanical literacy in K–12 education—and creating accessible ways to start learning today.
